Players set to go head-to-head in international action.

Sebastian Larsson is set to go head-to-head with Sunderland team-mates John O’Shea, Kieren Westwood and James McClean as his native Sweden host the Republic of Ireland in a World Cup Qualifier in Stockholm later this week.

Friday’s game will inevitably prove to be crucial in the outcome of Group C of the European Qualifying section with both sides looking to achieve second-place behind runaway leaders Germany.

Steven Fletcher and David Vaughan are also likely to face each other as Scotland host Wales at Hampden Park in Gordon Strachan’s first game at Hampden Park as Scotland manager.

Meanwhile, Simon Mignolet’s Belgium travel to Macedonia looking to extend their lead at the top of Group A.

Elsewhere, Stephane Sessegnon is away with Benin as the West Africans travel to Algeria in hope of extending their lead at the top of Group H of the African section.

Connor Wickham and Danny Rose have been called up by Stuart Pearce’s England under-21s as they host Romania at Wycombe’s Adams Park.

Jordan Pickford will also continue his run with the England under-19s as they host Turkey in a friendly in Telford.
