Defender impressed with HK reception.
Black Cats defender Carlos Cuellar is in awe of the welcoming he and the rest of the Sunderland squad have been given in their tour of Hong Kong for the Barclays Asia Trophy.
Cuellar, 31, is part of Paolo Di Canio’s squad that has travelled to South China to take on Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City or South China.
And he has been amazed by the warm greeting the Black Cats have had from the Hong Kong public.
“It’s nice to be here,” Cuellar said. “The welcome from the people was amazing, it’s a new experience for everybody, and I think it’s very good.
“Since Thursday when we arrived the welcome was unbelievable.
“I was so surprised with the people, the supporters and I think that is why the Premier League brought the trophy here because of the atmosphere and how the people treat us, it’s amazing, and I think that is a very good experience for everybody.”
