Beware resurgent Reading, says defender.
Titus Bramble has warned that Sunderland will have to be on their mettle when they face resurgent Reading this weekend.
The Royals went down 3-0 at the Stadium of Light in December but have since pieced together a useful run of form as they look to climb away from the relegation zone.
Brian McDermott’s men moved out of the bottom three last night as they came from two goals down to draw with Chelsea at the Madejski Stadium.
The Berkshire outfit are unbeaten in five games in all competitions, winning four and drawing one, and Bramble is under no illusions regarding the dangers of facing such a resurgent squad.
“A point against Swansea [in midweek] wasn’t such a bad result and now we have another tough game ahead,” he told safc.com.
“Reading have picked up of late and we know it’s going to be difficult, as every game in this league is.
“We know that it won’t be easy and will be working hard to get ready for the game.”
Sunderland, meanwhile, sit just a point outside the Barclays Premier League’s top 10 having taken seven points from their last three league games.
They tasted victory in their last away outing – at Wigan – and Bramble says the squad remain in confident mood.
“It’s always difficult to win away from home anywhere in this league, so we’ll take a lot of confidence from the Wigan result,” he explained.
“We got the three points there and picked up another point in midweek, so roll on Saturday.”
