Loan watch: Noble starts for Pools

Ryan makes Hartlepool United return.

Sunderland youngsters Ryan Noble and Craig Lynch both featured in Hartlepool United’s defeat at Crewe Alexandra.

Noble started the game against Crewe, after just finalising his loan move to Pools on Friday afternoon.

The striker was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet for Neale Cooper’s side, who took the lead early in the game.

However, they couldn’t hang on and Lynch was brought into the action from the bench on the 80th minute, when United were already 2-1 down.

In the Championship, Steve Bruce’s Hull City returned to winning ways with a 1-0 victory at Sheffield Wednesday.

Ahmed Elmohamady played a full 90 minutes at the Hillsbrough Stadium, where a 77th minute Aaron McClean goal was the difference maker, just minutes after he entered the pitch.

Elsewhere, goalkeeper Ben Wilson was on the bench as his side Chesterfield picked up their first away win of the season at struggling Aldershot.
