Bradford boss praises young defender.
Bradford manager Phil Parkinson has been impressed with what he’s seen of new loan signing John Egan.
The young Irishman, 20, has joined the Bantams until early January and could make his debut in Npower League Two tomorrow.
Parkinson watched Egan during Sunderland’s under-21 game against Aston Villa last week, after which he made his move.
And the Valley Parade chief is looking forward to working with the defender, who was voted the Republic of Ireland’s under-19 player of the year last season.
"He's competitive and looks both decent in the air and on the ground,” he told Bradford’s official website. “I like what I've seen of him.
"We've done our homework on him and we've heard that his commitment and desire is first rate.
"Whenever we bring a player into the club, we always talk about getting the right characters in. John certainly seems to fit that bill.
"He's someone who is going to have a real go for us. I think he will blend in really well with the players we already have in the squad."
