Former midfielder in the spotlight.
Republic of Ireland international midfielder Andy Reid spent three years on Wearside between 2008 and 2011.
Reid made 80 appearances for the Black Cats, scoring six goals as Sunderland continued to maintain their Barclays Premier League status.
He made his debut in February 2008 after joining on transfer deadline day from Charlton Athletic and he would score his first Black Cats goal with a 90th minute winner against West Ham at the Stadium of Light.
The 2008-09 campaign saw Reid made 38 league and cup appearances in the red and white stripes as well as netting in a 4-0 win over West Brom at the Stadium of Light.
The following season saw Reid add a further 25 appearances with goals against West Ham and Hull City whilst he scored twice in a 4-1 FA Cup victory over Norwich City at Carrow Road.
By the time of the 2010-11 campaign, opportunities were limited for Reid and he went on to spend time on loan at Sheffield United before his eventual departure to Blackpool in January 2011.
And, after six months at Bloomfield Road, Reid joined Nottingham Forest, where he began his career, and he is still plying his trade at the City Ground with a total of over 250 appearances for the club.
