Robinson goal seals '05 win.

8th May 2005
Sunderland celebrated collecting the 2005 Championship trophy with a 1-0 victory over Stoke City in front of 47,350 at the Stadium of Light.
Carl Robinson converted Liam Lawrence’s free-kick to break the deadlock and seal the final-day victory for the Black Cats.
Lawrence missed a couple of good chances, while Karl Henry went close for the visitors.
Marcus Stewart, playing his last match for the Black Cats, nearly helped give the hosts the perfect start with a flicked pass sending Dean Whitehead through on goal.
However, the in-form midfielder was fouled on the edge of the area and Steven Caldwell saw his resultant free-kick well saved.
Whitehead was clear on goal again when sent in by Julio Arca but he sliced his effort just wide.
Even after Robinson's goal Sunderland struggled to break down Stoke's diligent defence, and although Stewart could not get the goal he craved he was given a standing ovation when replaced late on.
