Former striker talks Wickham and Arsenal in latest column.

We've seen Connor Wickham move out on loan and I think a month with Sheffield Wednesday will do him good.

He needs games, which he's not really had of late, and the manager obviously feels a loan spell will be of benefit to him.

I'm sure he's looking forward to it because Wednesday are a massive club.

It's great to see the likes of Danny Rose back – for me he's up there alongside Steven Fletcher and Simon Mignolet in the Player of the Year running

People sometimes forget that Connor is still only a young lad who is learning the game. The best way to do that is by playing regularly.

Hopefully the move will work out well for both parties, and if it's only a month then we'll have Connor back for the run-in to the end of the season.

Nothing compares to getting games on a Saturday afternoon with three points riding on it. He'll be playing in front of big crowds at Hillsborough as well.

I'll be at the game against Arsenal on Saturday and I have to say I'm really looking forward to it.

We tend to play better against the bigger teams and there will be a good atmosphere. The fans never need any encouragement to get behind the team.

I think it will be a good spectacle and we can be sure of an open game. Arsenal like to attack and we tend to like playing on the break, so maybe that might suit us.

There could be a few goals in the game – hopefully we'll come out on the right side of it.

The manager has a few selection decisions to make ahead of Saturday, which is a good problem for him.

The team and bench are looking stronger, so here's to a similarly strong finish to the season.
