Sunderland AFC’s registered charity, the Foundation of Light, are holding a wide range of football and multi-sport coaching over May half-term for youngsters of all ages.

Soccer courses, Girls’ Only, Little Dribblers and Disability Multi-Sports sessions are running throughout the week led by approved coaches.

Two-day soccer courses are running at venues in Sunderland, Washington and County Durham for boys and girls of all abilities aged 5-14 years, consisting of skill and tactical training, and small sided games.

A Girls’ Only soccer course will take place in Sunderland, tailored to how young female players learn and coached by staff from the Girls’ Centre of Excellence which aims to provide elite player development opportunities for female footballers aged 7-17 years.

Washington’s Columbia Grange School will host a Disability Multi-Sports coaching session for disabled youngsters aged from 5 years and their siblings ran by award-winning staff.

Finally, ‘Little Dribblers’ for children aged 3-5 years will be running at the Stadium of Light alongside ‘Little Dribblers Big Day Out’ which offers a Stadium tour, fun classroom session and a coaching session.

The Foundation of Light, in association with the SAFC Academy of Light, have mapped player pathways which cater from grassroots to elite levels and can lead to trials at the Academy of Light.

Soccer Courses and Girls’ Only sessions are £15 per player, Disability Multi-Sports £10 per player and Little Dribblers £3 for football sessions and £5 for Big Day Out.
