Home of SAFC welcomes civic party.
The Mayor of Sunderland’s Annual Civic Charity Ball is to take place at the Stadium of Light this year.
Moving from its traditional autumn date to springtime, the event will be one of last official events for outgoing mayor, Councillor Iain Kay, raising funds for St Benedicts Hospice and Sunderland Carers’ Centre.
Sunderland AFC’s external events division, 1879 Events Management, will work in tandem with Sunderland City Council instating what is one of the highlights of the Wearside social calendar.
The event will take place on Friday 26 April, 2013 and tickets are available by calling the Stadium of Light on 0871 911 1500. Demand is expected to be high and early booking is advised to avoid disappointment.
The Mayor of Sunderland, Cllr Iain Kay said: “The Annual Civic Charity Ball is a fantastic opportunity to raise money for good causes and I’m delighted that this year’s event is going to be held at the Stadium of Light.
“The stadium is an excellent venue for the event and I’m looking forward to working with Sunderland AFC to make it a really good night, at the same time as raising much needed funds for St Benedict’s Hospice and Sunderland Carers Centre.”
SAFC’s commercial director Gary Hutchinson said: “We are thrilled that the Mayor’s Annual Civic Ball will be taking place at the Stadium of Light, combining one of the city’s most prestigious events with its most iconic venue - which is a recipe for a great event.
“The primary aim of the evening is to raise money for two hugely worthwhile causes and we’ll be doing all we can to ensure it’s a hugely successful evening. “It will be very different from what guests may have seen at previous events and we think it’s going to have a real wow factor. It is also another great coup for 1879, showcasing the breadth of what we are capable of doing.”
The event is the latest in a long line of successes for 1879 since the company’s inception a year ago. Some of the region’s biggest and most established events, such as Northern Pride benefitted from the bespoke service offered by 1879 as it continues to establish itself as a market leader in managing and delivering major events in the North East and beyond
The ball will take place at the Stadium of Light on April 26 2013. Tickets are priced from £50 per person for the gold package, £75 for the platinum package and £100 for the diamond package. For more information or to purchase tickets call 0871 911 1500 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
