X Factor star added to North East Live line-up

James Arthur to play North East’s biggest pop show.

X Factor star James Arthur has been added to the line up of North East Live, which is set to be the biggest pop show ever staged in the region.

Sunderland’s Stadium of Light will host the event and the Middlesbrough-born star will join a fantastic bill of acts already confirmed for the show, including JLS, The Wanted, Rita Ora, Lawson, Conor Maynard, Stooshe and Union J.

The confirmation of James Arthur completes a trio of acts with a regional flavour, with Amelia Lily and Little Mix also set to star.

Speaking about the forthcoming show James said: “I'm really looking forward to North East Live, playing to such a big home crowd will be amazing!”

The Middlesbrough born singer-songwriter won the ninth series of The X factor in 2012. His debut single ‘Impossible’ was released after the final and debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart in December 2012. In its first week of release it went onto sell over a million copies.

It has also become the fastest-selling ‘The X Factor winner's single’ so far, reaching 255,000 downloads within 48 hours and over 490,000 by the end of its first week on sale.

The family-friendly music extravaganza takes place on Saturday 22 June. Tickets are on sale now, priced from just £25 (see below for full ticket information).
