There's something for everybody this summer as Foundation of Light coaches have a range of summer sport activities planned across Sunderland, South Tyneside and County Durham.

A ‘Player Pathway’ operates with the Foundation of Light that can see gifted and talented players referred to Sunderland AFC’s Academy of Light.

Little Dribblers, the fun introduction to football for youngsters which is also mapped to learning outcomes of the Early Years Foundation Stage National Curriculum, will be accessible to youngsters from the age of 18 months at some venues.

Little Skills, for youngsters aged 5-7 years, focuses on age specific development areas needed and is tailored to the players needs.

Game Play, for youngsters aged 8-13 years, Introduces tactical sessions as well as maintaining the technical elements of player development.

The highly popular Keepers and Strikers session returns offering position specific skills training for youngsters wanting to become shot stoppers or strikers.

Girls’ Only, tailored to the specific manner in which young girls learn, will be running during the summer break coached by Sunderland AFC’s Girls’ Centre of Excellence’s Caroline Ames and Kevin Darke.

4v4 Tournaments will be running for youngsters aged 6-13 years. These small sided tournaments develop passing and fast paced play and are key in young players’ development. They are also a lot of fun and the Foundation of Light are welcoming bookings from teams of four or individuals who can be allocated to teams.

Finally, the Foundation of Light’s award-winning Making Moves disability coaching team are running multi-sports coaching and activities.

All of these specialist sessions run alongside the Foundation of Light’s Soccer Centres which offer excellent value for money at £15, £20 and £30 for one, two and three-day courses accordingly.
