This season, match day hospitality customers at the Stadium of Light can relax and unwind in style after the new Business Lounge was unveiled.
The former Durham Suite has undergone a dramatic transformation during the summer months and now boasts a contemporary and modern finish throughout.
Working on a ‘buy local’ theme in partnership with Sunderland based architects, Fitz Architects, the dramatic transformation is set to wow match day customers and business clients alike.
Gary Hutchinson, SAFC Commercial Director said: “We are delighted with the transformation of the new Business Lounge and it’s already proving popular with our clients – with only a few seasonal spaces left.
“The new suite will not only be used on match days, but it’s also ideal for business meetings, presentations and seminars and our vision is that it will become the place to do business in Sunderland.
“The business lounge is just one of the projects that the club has invested in during the summer months to improve the match day experience for our supporters and customers.”
This season sees visiting supporters relocated from the South Stand to the Strongbow North Upper area of the stadium. The area of the South Stand which previously housed away supporters has been designated as a lively, vibrant singing section and the South East corner has undergone a facelift to become a fantastic new Family Zone.
Another major investment in the Stadium has been an overhaul of all the concourse kiosks, with supporters invited to ‘taste testing’ sessions to give their views on the new products available to purchase.
Gary continued: “We recognise that in the current economic climate we need to add value to our match day experience and that’s why we’ve been busy throughout the summer improving our facilities.
“The response from the fans has been great; seasonal sales have been the best since 2007, proving that even in this tough economic climate the right investment really can pay dividends, continued Gary.
“Away from matchdays we are working hard to ensure the fantastic facility that is the Stadium of Light is maximised to its full potential, whether its business meetings, conferences, exhibitions, celebrations, weddings or Christmas parties, there’s a range of options and activities packages to suit all tastes and budgets.
“The new suite will be known as the Executive Lounge and we’re already taking enquiries and booking for events in this new unique flagship suite - there isn’t anything else like it in the region”
