Players set for red and white welcome on derby day.

SAFC are asking for volunteers to help give the players a special red and white welcome ahead of the derby match next weekend.

The club are placing red and white cards on seats for supporters to hold up when the two teams emerge from the tunnel at kick-off next Sunday.

With over 46,000 seats to cover, the club are appealing for help from supporters to ensure the cards are in place ready for the game.

Refreshments will be provided and volunteers, working alongside club staff, will be rewarded for completing the task with a pair of tickets for the home games against either West Bromwich Albion or Queens Park Rangers in November.

Can you help us show our colours to the world on this key derby day?

If so, please email webmaster@safc.com with your name and a contact number as soon as possible, please also indicate which game you would like the pair of tickets for - West Bromwich Albion or Queens Park Rangers.

These tickets will be given out on the day once the stadium has been prepared.

Volunteers must be aged 18 or over.

Volunteers will be required to meet at the Stadium of Light at 10am on Saturday 20th October, with the task potentially taking up to six hours.

Only those supporters who receive a confirmation email from the club, should meet at the South Tunnel at the SoL at 10am on Saturday 20th October.

Ha'way the Lads!
