Governing body reveal new fan resource.

The Football Association have launched a revolutionary new online resource explaining the rules and regulations behind the game.

The FA's in-depth Rules and Governance site presents the essential guide to the Laws of the Game, spanning more than 120 years since their inception in 1886.

Football fans across the country and beyond will be especially interested in the Analysis section.

This gives an insight into the decision-making processes taken by referees and during the disciplinary and appeals process.

Mark Ives, the FA’s Disciplinary Manager, said: “Our aim is to ensure everyone in the game is aware of not only the decisions we make but why and how we make them.

“The role of the Governance team covers not only a wide area on the field but a wide aspect off the field, including equality, doping and financial regulations to name but a few.

“The new site will include news stories, updates as well as completely up to date disciplinary statistics for players and clubs.

“I am extremely grateful for the support of Sunderland AFC for playing their part in ensuring their fantastic supporters are also notified of the work we do.”

The searchable Rulebook Analysis section features videos explaining each area, presented by former Chelsea and England defender Graeme Le Saux.

Videos deal with topics including mass confrontations, technical area misconduct and wrongful dismissals.

There's even information on media comments and social media, explaining the FA's position and advice given to players.

The site also features the current Fair Play table and player suspension lists for England's top five leagues, from the Barclays Premier League to the Conference Premier, as well as Safeguarding and Equality guidelines.

Other vital information, such as financial regulations and player registrations, is also explained.
