Daredevil fundraisers urged to sign up now to secure place.
The 8th October deadline for the Foundation of Light’s second ‘Zip Wear’ is fast approaching, with daredevil fundraisers being urged to sign up now to secure their place in the event.
Taking place on 13th October 2012, participants will ride a zip line from the roof of the Stadium of Light, travelling for a distance of around 250 metres at up to 25 miles per hour across the River Wear, landing 45 metres below on the opposite bank at Liebherr Cranes.
Places are limited to 180 participants per day and participants must register before Monday 8th October 2012.
Registration is just £20 to guarantee a place and participants are required to raise at least £100 in sponsorship, payable at the latest by 30th November 2012. Alternatively, places can be bought outright for £120 with all money raised going to the Foundation of Light and Help for Heroes.
Phil King, Foundation of Light Head of Commercial commented: “The sight of people zipping across the Wear from the top of the Stadium is quite something and the last time we ran this event we had people calling on the day begging to take part. Unfortunately, due to safety procedures, we need to pre-register all participants so I’d urge all those who think they’d like to take part to get in touch now!”
Those interested in taking part should contact Jennifer Smith on 0191 5515153 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Returning to the home of Sunderland AFC after debuting and selling out earlier this year, ‘Zip Wear’ is a must do for thrill seekers, adrenaline junkies and Black Cats supporters alike.
Participants must be 16 or over to take part and height and weight restrictions will apply.
