In addition to paid staff, we offer volunteer opportunities within our Education, Football Development, Finance and Administration departments.

Functional Skills Officer- Full Time
This nationally recognised scheme uses the power of football to educate adults throughout the North East giving them the skills and qualifications to progress into employment or further education.  The programme requires innovative and inspiring tutors to teach adults in Functional Skills programmes, helping them obtain level one and two qualifications. This post is specifically requires the candidate to have a Level 5 subject specialism in Maths or English.

Digital Content Manager – Full Time, Permanent
The Foundation of Light is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our Marketing and PR Team in a new role as Digital Content Manager. Leading on the Foundation’s digital strategy, linked to the charity’s new website project; suitable candidates will have a flair for digital marketing, social media, content creation and strategy.

Trainee Sports Coaches – Full Time Students (based at the Stadium of Light). 16-18 year olds only 

The Foundation of Light are seeking enthusiastic individuals with a desire to work in Sports Coaching. The Sports Coaching Academy will equip trainees with the knowledge and skills they need to pursue a career in the sports coaching industry. Trainees will work alongside qualified coaches and gain a host of valuable qualifications including the FA’s Coaching Football Level 1 and Level 2 and BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Development, Coaching and Fitness.

Researcher – part time / casual
A suitably experienced researcher is required to support key personnel within the Foundation to identify opportunities and provide essential statistical and evidential content.  Research is required across several disciplines including socio-economic; demographic; fundraising opportunities; European; political and policy; trends and sector specific.  This role could be performed on an ad hoc, remote basis.
