Watmore and Moberg Karlsson sign
Sunderland has confirmed the signings of attacking duo Duncan Watmore and David Moberg Karlsson.
Watmore joins from non league side Altrincham and is a striker. The player is likely to aid the club’s development squad as Paolo Di Canio aims to add young. Exciting talent to his Sunderland side.
Winger Karlsson penned a four year deal. The 19 year old joined from IFK Goteborg for an undisclosed fee. The midfielder, who can also play up front, netted four times last season in 15 appearances. Karlsson told safc.com:
“So far its been really good and we have worked hard to prepare for the upcoming season. We have done plenty of running and core work. Its similar to what I did in Sweden but we are working harder now with two sessions a day.”
“We have a game this evening and I’m looking forward to that. It’s good to get a game in this heat for fitness.”
Karlsson is currently with his squad in Northern Italy, training hard for the new season. The Lads will play a behind closed doors game this evening against a local side. Also in Italy are new signings Roberge, Diakite, Cabral and Mannone.
Sunderland has recently confirmed signings for El-Hadji Ba and Jozy Altidore.
