Kader arrives at the SoL.
Sunderland have completed their second signing of the January transfer window. Defender Kader Mangane has joined on loan from Arabian side Al-Hilal until the end of the season.
The 6ft 5in centre back will add to Sunderland’s depleted defensive ranks and his new Manager Martin O’Neill was happy to get the African. “Kader is a player who will add to the overall strength of our squad and give us options. He will improve competition for places and we are delighted to welcome him to the club.”
Mangane, who has represented his country, Senegal, 23 times, is 29 years old.
He started his career at US Rail before spells at Neuchatel Xamax, Young Boys and Lens. In 2012 he moved from Rennes to Al-Hilal. He has made 18 appearances for the Saudis this season before joining Sunderland.
