Meet James, the new Junior Black Cat reporter

James, a Junior Black Cat who is a massive Sunderland fan, has been given the privilege of becoming the Junior Black Cats reporter.

This means he will write reports for every match he goes to this season, starting with the Wear-Tyne derby on Sunday!

The 13-year-old has been a big Sunderland fan for a while, and writes his own match reports after every game, we thought we would share them with you.

We chatted to James about his love for Sunderland AFC.

What was your first football game?
It was against Aston Villa in the 2005-2006 season. Unfortunately we lost 2-1, but I enjoyed it so much I've been coming ever since!

Who is your favourite player?
Phil Bardsley, because he is one of Sunderland's best players.

How long have you been writing about football?
Since I was 11, so about two years. Although I've been writing other stories on other things since I was 9!

What’s your favourite subject at school?
History because you learn lots of interesting things.

What’s your favourite Sunderland goal?
Carlos Edwards’ goal that got us promoted in 2006 against Burnley ... it was a forty yard shot which screamed into the top corner, fantastic!
