Widely respected as one of the greatest managers of all time, Brian Clough signed from hometown club Middlesbrough having scored an incredible 204 goals in 222 games.
Clough’s playing career was tragically cut short on Boxing Day 1962 after an on-pitch collision, but he still managed to score 63 goals in 74 appearances on Wearside before stepping into a coaching role.
