Learning through Football – Primary
Working with Primary School children and their teachers at the Stadium of Light, this programme uses football as the spark that ignites interest in core school subjects, motivating and enthusing participants to achieve more. Supporting and enriching schools’ curriculum offering, ‘Learning through Football’ helps bring learning to life through sessions on a variety of topics including literacy, numeracy, science ICT and history.
Tackle It – Primary and Secondary
‘Tackle It’ uses coaching and workshop sessions to teach young people about positive choices which will impact on their academic and social lives. The programme covers a wide range of subjects, including racism, bullying, self-respect, substance misuse and health issues.
Family Learning through Football – Parents and children
Working with parents and children, ‘Family Learning’ aims to promote personal development and learning with adults while building and improving relationships within the family. Upon completion of the 10-week course learners take part in the Sir Bob Murray Family CBE Learning Graduations at the Stadium of Light, which gives them a real sense of achievement and often inspires further learning.
Specialist ‘Family Learning’ courses can also improve numeracy and literacy for both adults and children, develop financial awareness and improve awareness of healthy choices which benefit the whole family.
