Showpiece event is back.
Sunderland stars will swap football for fashion when they take to the catwalk to raise funds for north-east youngsters.
Players from the club's first team will be among those strutting their stuff at the fifth annual Fashion Strikes fashion show at the Stadium of Light on November 25.
The event, which will have an Italian theme, is to raise money for the club’s charitable arm, the Foundation of Light, which uses sport to engage with children, young people and families in the region.
As well as modelling clothes donated for the occasion by shops at the Intu Metrocentre, players will be hosting tables at the event, giving guests the chance to mingle with some of the club’s most famous faces.
Katrina Quinn, events coordinator at the Stadium of Light said: “The Foundation’s annual fashion show has become a firm fixture on the social calendar and this year it promises to be bigger and better than ever before.
“Guests will be treated to a gourmet dinner, courtesy of 3663, live entertainment and will also be able to snap up some gorgeous Christmas gifts and accessories at a number of stalls throughout the evening.”
Metrocentre marketing manager Karen Carr said: “Intu Metrocentre has helped support thousands of local charities over the years and is delighted to be associated for the first time with the Foundation of Light.
“Not only will we be showcasing the latest autumn and winter fashions from designers as well as high street brands but we’ll be helping to raise money for a very worthy cause.”
Tickets for the Passione Italiana – Fashion Strikes event cost £125 each or £1000 for a table of 10.
