Open evening for Dublin to Sunderland bike ride.
The Foundation of Light is once again calling on cyclists to get on their bikes and hit the roads of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and England to raise funds for the charity’s award-winning sports, health and education programmes.
Following the resounding success of the inaugural Dublin to Sunderland (D2S) Cycle Challenge earlier this year, which saw participants travel 380 miles through four countries in five days, the Foundation of Light will be hosting an information evening to officially announce the launch of D2S 2013.
Taking place at the Stadium of Light on Wednesday 14th November at 6pm, event organisers, riders from the inaugural Challenge, and special guests are expected to be on hand to discuss the D2S Challenge in greater detail, share their experiences and answer any questions about next year’s challenge due to take place in June 2013.
Speaking ahead of the launch event, former SAFC striker and rider on this year’s D2S Challenge Marco Gabbiadini said: “The D2S Challenge is a big test but also very rewarding.
“We had a fantastic few days, it was great fun and there was a lot of camaraderie. The course is fantastic, especially the scenery along the Irish coast and across the Galloway Hills in Scotland.
“I would urge anyone who wants to raise money for a fantastic cause such as the Foundation of Light and loves a challenge to come along to the D2S launch event, find out more and hopefully sign up.”
