Football fun for boys and girls.
There are plenty of activities taking place during the Easter holidays with the Foundation of Light’s Sport and Coaching department.
Two and three day soccer centres are running at venues in Sunderland, Washington and Durham for boys and girls of all abilities aged 5-14 years from 7 – 16 April. Sessions consist of skill and tactical training, and small sided games. Disability multi-sports are running in Sunderland for people over the age of 5 and their siblings and friends can also take part.
The Foundation of Light provides opportunities for young female footballers to progress to the Sunderland AFC Girls’ Centre of Excellence, or just to have fun, through Girls' Only football sessions available in Sunderland and Durham. There will also be special appearances from SAFC Ladies team at the two day courses.
‘Little Dribblers', for children aged 3-5 years, will be running at the Stadium of Light alongside ‘Little Dribblers Big Day Out’ which offers a Stadium Tour, fun classroom activity and a coaching session. Sessions are running all week from Monday 7 – Friday 11 April from £3 per participant.
Aspiring footballers from across the North East are being given the chance to follow in the footsteps of stars including SAFC midfielder Jack Colback with Open Trials, taking place for boys aged 5-16 years at the Academy of Light. Sessions will be running from 10am until 3pm on 14th and th April for boys aged 5-11 and from 10am until 4pm on 16 April for ages 12 to 16.
