The team also had two Players of the Competition in the under 16 and under 25 category in Megan Quinn and Kerry Mould respectively.

Charlotte Rush, club coach for Wearside Wildcats, said: “We’re delighted to have had such a fantastic tournament and it’s a great achievement for our girls. We’re work hard to develop an environment where everybody enjoys playing and I firmly believe that this enjoyment has been a catalyst for our success.”

The Premier League 4 Sport programme was established to give youngsters an opportunity to try a broad range of sports including basketball, judo, golf, table tennis and volleyball.

Funded by the Premier League Community Fund, the programme provides access to satellite clubs where youngsters can try the sports out, and progression routes into tournaments and competitions.
