Foundation receive boost.
Funding from Players of the People’s Postcode Lottery has helped almost 1,400 children access sport since July this year.
The donation, made to support access to sport and healthy activities in South Tyneside has been utilised to run; in and after-school sessions; sports festivals; holiday courses; and evening and weekend sessions.
Children as young as 3 years old have benefitted from the donation through taking part in the Little Dribblers programme. Other programmes including Making Moves (disabled sport), multi-sport activities, also received a proportion of the donation.
Speaking about the donation Jamie Wright, Acting Football Development Director commented: “We’re very grateful for the support received from players of People’s Postcode Lottery which has allowed us to help so many youngsters participate in sport and healthy activities. The donation has made a real impact on young lives in South Tyneside across a broad range of activities giving everyone a chance to participate.
“Players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised over £25,000 for the Foundation over the last few years, supporting projects which ran throughout North East communities and helping thousands of young people. We are a local charity supporting local residents, and this is a great example of the players supporting a local cause.”
