Lambton Run to take place next month.

The Lambton Estate in partnership with the Foundation of Light are calling for runners to take part in two exclusive runs.

The annual 10k and 3k runs will be held at the picturesque Durham estate on Sunday 30th June.

In its third year, this annual event in the running calendar is held on the Lambton Park Estate situated between Durham and Newcastle upon Tyne.

The event aims to cater for all ages and abilities, from families and fun runners to competitive athletes.

Both the 10k and 3k Family Fun Run will be taking place on a traffic free, mixed terrain course within the grounds.

The event is kindly sponsored by the Cestria Community Housing, Lambton Estate, Northumbrian Water and Sweatshop.

The Foundation of Light is the registered charity of Sunderland AFC which works across the North East to inspire, involve and educate children and their families in activities that can improve their lives. Structurally and financially independent of the football club the charity relies on fundraising for 90% of project costs.

Foundation of Light Event Coordinator Katrina Quinn commented on the event:

“The Lambton runs are a great opportunity for people who want to challenge themselves to do something different this year. That said it’s a fantastic and unique course that will appeal to seasoned veterans and enthusiastic amateurs alike.

“We’d like to offer our public thanks to the Lambton Estate for supporting us for a second year running through this event.”

The minimum age of participants for the 10k run is 17 years. Entry fee for 10k UKA members is £12 and £14 for unattached runners. 3k fee for UKA members is £6 and £8 for unattached runners. Runners are asked to raise sponsorship money to support the Foundation of Light although this is not a condition of entry.

Booking forms are available by emailing or by calling 0191 551 5191.
