Courses for parents and children over Easter break.

The Foundation of Light’s award-winning Family Learning team are running a free course for parents and children during the Easter break.

Parents and children will have the opportunity to spend quality time together by participating in fun and games including football drills and skills.

The course is open to youngsters aged 4-13, as long as they are accompanied by at least one family member aged 18+ years.

The Family Fun Course and Family Learning in South Tyneside is funded by South Tyneside ACL.

The Foundation of Light, the registered charity of Sunderland AFC, works with more than 42,000 children and adults every year. The Family Learning programme has been highly successful in the South Tyneside area, running at Primary Schools across the region and winning a national award in 2011.

Martin Metcalfe, Informal Educator with the Foundation of Light who will be running the course commented: “These holiday family learning courses are a great way to spend some time with the kids in the holidays and stay active. The half-term course we ran earlier this year was well received and we expect high demand for this one too.

“Thanks must go to South Tyneside ACL, who are providing families with this great opportunity in the holidays that should not be missed.”

The course will take place on April 2, 3 and 4, from 10:00am - 2:00pm, at Seaview Primary School, South Tyneside.

Places on the course are free but must be booked in advance. Families will need to provide a packed lunch for the sessions and are also recommended to bring plenty of drinks
