A peek at what it's like to run out with the Lads.

Name David
Age 9

When I was mascot I got to meet all the Sunderland players and Martin O’Neill. My favourites are Lee Cattermole, Seb Larsson, Steven Fletcher and Stephane Sessegnon - Catts was really nice to me.

My favourite part of being a mascot was leading the team out on the pitch and playing with Catts in front of the crowd. I was very nervous but I felt very proud and honoured to do it.

My Dad and Mam were very proud of me and my brother was really jealous because he would like to be mascot.

Before the game  when I was waiting in Reception chairman Ellis Short came over and sat and talked to us for about 10 minutes. He was a very kind and friendly man and made us feel very welcome. My Dad said Mr Short was one of the nicest people he has ever met

I liked meeting Samson and Delilah because they stopped me feeling nervous when I went on the pitch.

I really enjoyed being able to go into the Magic Moments Bar and getting my new strip.

Everyone was very kind and friendly to my family and I and we all said it was one of the best days of our lives. I enjoyed telling all my friends about my night, my head teacher was very proud of me.
