New striker on board.

Danny Graham has signed for Sunderland from Swansea for an undisclosed fee.

The 27 year old put pen to paper on a three and a half year deal and will wear the number 9 shirt for the Wearsiders.

He signed on deadline day as Ahmed Elmohamady and Louis Saha completed moves out of the club. The striker, who was born in Gateshead, made 54 appearances for the Swans, netting 15 times but has found himself out of favour this season with Michu being preferred.

Graham said: “ Fletcher has come in and been a breath of fresh air. He’s scored a number of goals and has probably paid back most of his transfer fee already. We’ve got Sessegnon in behind and Connor Wickham too. There are places up for grabs and I will be working hard on the training ground to show the manager what I’m about.”

The striker has signed in time for Sunderland’s trip to Reading so he could make his debut there.
