Cats look forward to Fun Day

by Samson and Delilah

Samson and Delilah tell us about this summer's Family Fun Day.

I can’t believe the season is over, I’m going to miss coming to the matches over the summer! What was your favourite moment of the season? Mine has to be the 3-0 win over Newcastle United, Paolo’s goal celebrations were purr-fect. Our 1-0 win over Manchester City on Boxing Day was fab too with a super goal from Adam Johnson – a great Christmas present for the Black Cats!

Delilah and I took an extra special trip to see the last game of the season for Sunderland Women’s FC. A great 3-1 win over Leeds. Well done girls! Sunderland Women have just won the Premier League for the third time in a row too, so we were lucky enough to hold the trophy. How cool is that? You can read all about our visit to the match in the next issue of your Junior Black Cats Magazine.

Have you heard about the Junior Black Cats Family Fun Day? It’s going to be the best party of the summer, we can’t wait! We have been party planning very hard to make this year even bigger and better than last year with even more funfair rides. There will be dodgems and a waltzer plus bouncy castles and an obstacle course. The Foundation of Light will have lots of cool footie games for you to play too. Check out the competition in the rest of my email to find out how you can get your paws on tickets.

Don’t worry if you don’t win, tickets are on sale now from the Stadium of Light Ticket Office or by calling 0871 911 1973 for just £5 per person.

We are already looking forward to August and seeing you all in the Family Zone again. Delilah and I have already renewed our season cards. Have you been lucky enough to get one? As the Family Zone is the place to be in the Stadium of Light, there is a special discount on season cards, an adult and junior for just £450, wow! I hope we can see you there next season. Don’t forget to email me and let me know what you enjoyed about the Family Zone and any cool ideas you have about what you want to see in there. It’s your special area of the stadium, so I want to hear from my favourite fans.

Are you looking forward to the summer? Let’s hope the sun puts his hat on soon so we can play outside. I like to splash in puddles but I would love to go splodging in the sea and build sandcastles on the beach. Don’t forget to send us your summer pictures, email them to and you could star in our next magazine or on our website!
