Maintenance Operative
Full Time (40 hours)
Sunderland AFC are looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Operative to be responsible for ensuring that all of the club’s sites are fully maintained to the highest standards within the wider maintenance team. Progressively work through PPM’s and be reactive to dynamic situations when they arise, across all locations including the Stadium of Light and Academy of Light. A construction trade and experience is desired for the role.
Core Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
To undertake day to day maintenance tasks across the club at the Stadium of Light, Academy of Light and other club locations.
To carry out stringent daily swimming pool tests and ensuring parameters of pool compliance are met
Managing external contractors on site complying with Safe systems of work and Permit to work
Understanding of Health and Safety at work act
Work alone and as part of the wider team carrying out works as required
Working to a PPM schedule and reactive timescales as required
To be part of the maintenance call out rota
Understanding of building management systems (BMS)
To work matchdays and major events at the Stadium of light with the maintenance team
To carry out a defined list of pre match safety check
Able to communicate effectively
To provide cover for maintenance operatives on other sites when required
Ensure understanding, awareness and compliance at all times with the Club’s Health & Safety Policy.
Ensure compliance with all of the Club’s security, stock control, loss prevention and key holder procedures.
Commitment to the delivery of excellent customer service
To be self-motivated and the ability to work under pressure
Logical thinking in fault finding situations.
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
Essential Criteria
Minimum 2 years maintenance experience
Experience of working in a commercial building
Flexibility is essential to ensure maintenance cover across all SAFC sites
Full UK driving license essential
Desirable Criteria
Trade qualification desirable
Swimming pool testing knowledge desirable
Health and Safety qualification desirable
The position is full time (40 hours per week), the availability to work flexible is essential to suit business needs. Additionally, you are required to work all home fixtures and special events unless previously agreed with your manager.
